Los Portales Mexican Restaurant

We found this Mexican restaurant by accident on our first visit and it was delicious!  They have great food and giant portions.  It is a short 7 minute car trip from Riverside Den.  You can find their menu here. 

Small Town Burger

81 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, VA

Don't be fooled by the size of this burger joint.  It sells the best burgers around alongside fresh cut curly fries!  There is plenty of outdoor seating, a "fancy port-a-pottie", and usually a firepit and yard games going. 

Horn Harbor Restaurant

836 Horn Harbor Road, Burgess, VA 22432 

Horn Harbor Restaurant is open all year from Wednesday through Sunday, serving seafood and steakhouse specialties. It is right on the water, so you can visit by land or river. The restaurant is a friendly, sit-down spot to dine - don't get thrown off by the long winding drive through the woods! Check out their menus here. 

Leadbelly's Restaurant

Leadbelly's is a local favorite for fried seafood in walking distance from Riverside Den in the Fairport Marina.  Open 11am-10pm. 

Crazy Crab

902 Main St, Reedville, VA 22539 

The Crazy Crab is a Reedville restaurant that serves up all kinds of seafood as well as American fare (burgers, wings, etc.).  Check out their menu. 

Chitterchats Ice Cream Parlor

846 Main Street, Reedville, VA

Where can you find yummy homemade ice cream only five minutes from camp? Chiterchats! Our family favorite scoops are black raspberry, chocolate, cookie monster, cookie dough, and butter pecan. Chitterchats has an unusual schedule, so be sure to check the calendar before you go.  In the summer, they often have a food truck on their parking lot and these are listed on the calendar as well.  

T&J's Dairy Barn

718 Jessie Dupont Memorial Highway, Burgess, VA

This Family owned and operated restaurant serves homemade pizza, subs, sandwiches, salads, seasonal foods, funnel cakes and 25+ homemade on site ice cream flavors as well as the best soft-serve in the area.  Kids love having their pictures taken on the life-size cows! 

Fawn's Delectibles Cafe

284 Morris Avenue Suite C Reedville, VA

Fawn's has new offerings every day.  "Breakfast and a bunch of yummy cakes, pies and other treats."  They update their offerings daily on their Facebook Page.  They are located 5 minutes from Riverside Den.  Be sure to check opening times on their website!

Taylor's Deli (formerly"The Country Store")

Taylor's sells typical deli fare. They are located 5 minutes from Riverside Den.

 This grocery store is about 11 miles from the camp, but worth the extra few minutes drive to find fresh produce and selection of foods.  Open 7am-10pm.
